Safety and Contraindications for Using NeuraLed Products

General Precautions

NeuraLed devices, including the NeuraSync 400 helmet and the NLCare laser, are designed for safe and non-invasive use. However, certain precautions must be followed to ensure optimal use and minimize potential risks.

  • Prior Consultation: Although our devices are designed for home use, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional if you have a medical condition or any questions.
  • Proper Use:
  • Follow the recommended settings provided in the user manual for each device.
  • Do not use the devices excessively or beyond the recommended session duration (maximum of 20 minutes per zone).
  • Cleaning: Clean the devices with a soft, dry cloth after each use to avoid the accumulation of dirt or bacteria.
  • Supervision: These devices are not intended for use by children. Any use by minors must be strictly supervised by an adult.

Contraindications

Photobiomodulation may not be suitable for certain individuals or specific conditions. Please consider the following:

Medical Conditions:

  • Photosensitive Epilepsy: Bright flashes or pulsations of light could trigger seizures in individuals with epilepsy.
  • Electronic Implants: Consult a doctor if you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device.
  • Active Cancer: Avoid using the device on areas affected by active cancer or ongoing treatment.
  • Conditions Involving Photosensitivity: Patients taking photosensitizing medications (e.g., antibiotics, anti-inflammatories) should consult a healthcare professional before use.

Sensitive Areas

  • Do not use directly on the eyes. Always wear the protective goggles provided with the laser.
  • Avoid application on open wounds, infected areas, or skin irritations.
  • Do not treat directly over thrombosis or aneurysm sites without prior medical advice.

Pregnancy

  • Avoid using the devices on the abdomen or pelvic area during pregnancy. Consult a healthcare professional before use.

Light Sensitivity

  • Individuals on photosensitizing treatments (e.g., certain antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs) should avoid light therapy during treatment.
  • Patients with vestibular migraines, epilepsy, or extreme light sensitivity should refrain from using light therapy devices.

Dermatological Conditions

  • Consult a dermatologist if you have chronic skin conditions or a history of skin cancer.
  • Avoid using the device on sunburned areas.

Severe Neurological Conditions

  • For complex or severe neurological conditions, such as advanced brain injuries or unstable pathologies, medical advice is recommended.
  • Patients with a history of stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), or recent head trauma should consult a healthcare professional before use.

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Implants

  • The NeuraSync 400 helmet is not recommended for patients with a DBS implant. Consult a doctor for alternatives, such as the NLCare laser.

Cardiovascular Conditions

  • Patients with heart conditions should consult a doctor before using photobiomodulation, as it may temporarily increase symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, or a slight rise in heart rate.

Severe Pain or Acute Migraines

  • Do not use the device during an acute migraine episode or intense pain without prior medical advice.

Potential Side Effects

Although photobiomodulation is generally well-tolerated, some users may experience:

  • Temporary warmth or redness: These effects are normal and should subside quickly after the session.
  • Mild dizziness: If this occurs, stop the session and rest.
  • Increased sensitivity: If discomfort persists, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
  • Mild fatigue: A temporary feeling of fatigue may occur due to increased cellular stimulation during initial uses.
